Ray Scott has worked for 35 years in the health and human-services fields, having served in the administrations of seven Arkansas governors, including his tenure as Director of the Arkansas Department of Human Services. He was also U.S. Senator David Pryor's Chief of Staff during Pryor's first term in the U.S. Senate.

Scott was appointed to lead the Arkansas Office of Health Information Technology (HIT) by Gov. Mike Beebe in March 2010.

Ray Scott, head of the Arkansas Office of Health Information Technology (HIT), discusses his agency’s efforts to improve the quality of health care in the state through technology. The Office of Health Information Technology was established to coordinate all HIT-related activities in the state and develop a statewide health information exchange to improve the ability of health care providers to exchange accurate medical data.
